We’re holding our National Conference and Family Weekend on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th September 2016. The CLDF National Conference is a place to:-

  • Share with other families and young people in an informal setting
  • Meet with many of the UK's childhood liver disease specialists
  • Learn about treatments, new research, psychological and social issues in childhood liver disease
  • Discover how CLDF can support your journey with childhood liver disease
After listening to feedback from previous years, a new venue has been chosen to host the event - Chesford Grange in Kenilworth (CV8 2LD) near Warwick.  We hope that families who have joined us before and those who join us for the first time will enjoy the new conference format and venue.

The event will start at 9am on Saturday morning and the conference and trip will end by 5pm. For those who’d like to stay for the evening meal or are staying overnight, dinner will be served at 6.30pm.

Opportunities to meet others and share stories

As well as the main conference on Saturday 24th September, there’ll be an option for those attending to join us for an evening meal and to stay overnight at Chesford Grange. Following your feedback, we’ve made this event a family weekend and arranged some accommodation on a first come first served basis. Please note the accommodation is now fully booked. There are a number of other hotels in the area, details of some are below. The evening will provide the opportunity to meet with other families in a relaxed, informal environment following a full day.

Entertaining the children and young people…

Whilst parents are enjoying the conference, children and young people over 8 years old will be whisked away to Drayton Manor for a day of fun and there is a crèche for children under 8 years old. Babies and children are not allowed into any of the conference sessions so that delegates can listen without distraction.

All of the events over the conference weekend are heavily subsidised by the Charity to ensure that everyone who would like to can attend. Payment will be required at the time of booking and fees for the event are as follows:-

Conference - £10 per delegate
Trip to Drayton Manor (8 to 18 year olds only) - £10 per child with liver condition/transplant and/or per sibling
Crèche (under 8s) - £5 per child with liver condition/transplant and/or per sibling
Evening Meal - £10 per group (can include extended family) or £5 per medical professional
Accommodation - £40 per group (refundable after the conference on request)

Please note accommodation is for immediate family only (i.e. parent(s)/carer(s) staying with a child(ren) with a liver condition/sibling(s)). Extended family members, medical professionals and non-UK residents will need to book their own accommodation directly with Chesford Grange (see web links below).
